Three arrested for armed robbery in New Berlin

--- —

Three people are in custody after being charged in connection with the armed robbery of a passenger in a car parked on Pat Farley Road in New Berlin early Saturday, the Chenango County Sheriff's Office reported today.

Investigators said one of the robbers pointed a shotgun at the victim. The crime appears to be drug related, they said.

Charged with second-degree robbery in connection with the pre-dawn heist were Lacey-Jane Zinkhan, 18, of Norwich, Raymond H. Sitterly, 37, of Norwich and Marissa D. Deforest, 26, whose address was undetermined.

The victim escaped unharmed and called 911 to report the robbery, police said. Several hundred dollars in cash was tossed out of the car during the confrontation, and that money was recovered, as was a BB gun used in the robbery.

The City of Norwich Police Department and New York State Police assisted with the investigation, which is continuing, investigators said.
