COOPERSTOWN _ In Otsego County Court Tuesday, March 30, before Judge John Lambert, an indictment charged Zacharias W. Fuller, 36, of Schenevus with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, heroin. According to court records, the incident occurred Jan. 5 in the city of Oneonta.

Fuller, who was jailed in lieu of $30,000 bail, is scheduled to be arraigned April 6.

In Otsego County Court March 29 before Lambert, Jaden McEldowney, 23, of Albany pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, cocaine.

According to court records, the incident occurred Sept. 12 in Otego.

McEldowney was sentenced to five years' probation. Her driver's license was suspended for six months; she was required to forfeit $50 and she was assessed $375 in court fees.

Also in court March 29, Joanne F. Lawyer, 49, of Sharon Springs, pleaded innocent at arraignment to second-degree grand larceny, third-degree grand larceny, and five counts of second-degree forgery.

According to court records, the incidents occurred between March 9 and June 26, 2009, in Richfield Springs.

She was released on her own recognizance to return to court at a later date.

In Otsego County Court on March 26 before Judge Brian Burns, Daniel Merwin, 39, of Worcester was sentenced as a second-felony offender to 11/2-to-3 years in state prison.

According to court records, he pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny, and the incident occurred Aug. 29 or Aug. 30 in the town of Oneonta.

Also in court March 26 before Judge Burns:

"¢ Michael Shires, 33, of Oneonta pleaded innocent at arraignment to a charge of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, cocaine.

According to court records, the incident occurred Nov. 4 in the city of Oneonta.

Shires was jailed in lieu of $30,000 bail and is scheduled to return to court April 30.

"¢ Joseph E. Gertzberg, 39, of Cobleskill pleaded innocent at arraignment to driving while intoxicated.

According to court records, the incident occurred Jan. 3 in the town of Springfield.

Gertzberg is free on $2,500 bail and is scheduled to return to court May 14.

"¢ John D. Miller Jr, 30, of Gilboa pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender.

Miller was sentenced as a second felony offender to 11/2-to-3 years in prison.

He also was assessed $375 in court fees.

In state Supreme Court of Otsego County on March 25 before Justice Michael Coccoma, Kyle L. French, 23, of the town of Maryland, pleaded innocent at arraignment to third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

According to court records, the incident occurred Oct. 18 in the town of Milford.

French was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to return to court April 2.
