Nick Madison earned his second straight victory, covering a 3.1-mile course in 18 minutes, 26 seconds to lead an incomplete Oneonta High boys team in a dual-meet road loss.

"He's starting to break through a little bit and figuring out how to race well," OHS coach Dan Forbes said of Madison, who won the Schaeffer Invitational's 3.1-mile Boys A-B race at Unatego this past Saturday in 16:59.

Jesse Hamway finished third (20:10) and Levi Anderson placed fourth (22:22) for the Jackets.

Kim Scofield paced Oneonta's girls, who also ran incomplete, with a second-place finish in 25:16. Norwich's Sarah Spittler won the 3.1-mile race in 24:41.

Noah Apthorpe's second place finish led Delhi to a the championship in the Varsity A race at the Bill McCann Mixer Invitational at Scott's Golf Course in Deposit.

Apthorpe finished the 3.1-mile course in 19:57 helping the Bulldogs finish with 34 points. Harpursville and Unatego each had 57 points.

Walton's Leon Nevins won the race in 18:24. The Warriors were incomplete in the team standings.

The Varsity A race had more girls competing than boys and the Varsity B race was the opposite.

Afton won the Varsity B race with 35 points, followed by Delhi with 43. Bainbridge-Guilford's Chris Burnett won the B race with the top time of the day, finishing in 18:20.
