at Cooperstown

Anna Weber won three events to lead Cooperstown's girls to a second-place finish in a Center State Conference home meet against Sauquoit Valley and New York Mills on Thursday.

Weber won the 100 meters in 13.5, the 100 hurdles in 16.3 and the 400 hurdles in 1:08.8. She also ran the second leg for the Redskins' 400 relay team, which won in a season-best 54.1. Cooperstown finished with 63 points, 43 ahead of New York Mills but 31 behind SV.

Katelynn Kiuber (200, 28.9) and Eryn Bass (long jump, 13-11.5) also won for Cooperstown. They joined Weber on the 400 relay, which also featured Christen Dutkowsky.

Cooperstown's boys fell, 82-58, to SV but routed Mills, 112-17 in a quad meet that included Richfield Springs. Cooperstown did not go head-to-head with Richfield Springs, which beat Mills, 65-49.

Will Reis paced the Redskins with a win in the 800 (2:09.1) and a spot on the winning 3,200 relay team (8:56.6). Eddie O'Brien (100, 12.4), Brandon Lane (high jump, 6-0) and Scott Millea (pole vault, 11-0) also placed first for Cooperstown.

The Redskins will host the 14-team Don Howard Invitational at 2 p.m. Saturday. Weber will not compete because of a scheduling conflict, Cooperstown girls coach Connie Herzig said.

Dillon Anderson shot a 2-over-par 37 to lead Morris to a 210-257 victory over visiting Laurens on the front nine at Colonial Ridge.

Anderson birdied the par-5 first hole and finished one stroke shy of matching his season-best nine-hole score. Garrett Decker contributed a 41 for the Mustangs (4-1, 3-0), who host Cherry Valley-Springfield on Monday.
