In Delaware County Court on Monday, a McDonough woman pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Monica M. Bell, 32, was sentenced to 21/2 years in prison with two years' post-release supervision and was ordered to pay $25 restitution to the Sidney Police Department.

Bell was arrested after an investigation into the sale of morphine pills, Sidney police said.

She was originally charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony; fourth-degree conspiracy, a class E felony; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.

Delaware County Judge Carl Becker said Bell has three felony convictions and was going to prison for the second time.

"You have one of the longest criminal histories I have seen for a woman," Becker said. "It's time for you to decide whether this lifestyle suits you."
