COOPERSTOWN _ An Oneonta man was charged with first- and second-degree rape in an indictment handed up in Otsego County Court Monday before Judge John Lambert.

Christopher J. Callahan, 40, was charged with one count of first-degree rape and four counts of second-degree rape.

According to court records, the incidents occurred in the towns of Oneonta and Laurens in 2007 with a person who was less than 13 years old, and later, less than 15 years old.

Callahan is in jail in lieu of $20,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 31.

In other indictments handed up Monday before Judge Lambert:

ä Wayne H. Gregory, 64, was charged with second-degree assault. According to court records, the incident occurred Oct. 26 in Oneonta.

Gregory is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 11.

ä Heidi J. Pangratis, 53, was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated. According to court records, the incident occurred April 23 in Richfield Springs.

Pangratis is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 14.

ä Jason S. Wilson, 31, was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree attempted sexual abuse. According to court records, the incidents occurred in Unadilla and Otego and involved contact with an underaged person.

Wilson is in jail in lieu of $15,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at a later date.

In state Supreme Court of Otsego County Tuesday before Justice Michael Coccoma, Harold H. Kenyon, 59, of Charlottesville, was sentenced to five years' probation for driving while intoxicated.

He also was fined $1,000 and assessed $520 in court fees.

According to court records, the incident occurred Sept. 7 in Worcester.

In Otsego County Court Friday before Judge Brian Burns, Jeremy C. Ryan, 37, of Edmeston, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary.

According to court records, the incident occurred Sept. 22, 2007, in Exeter.

Ryan is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 11.

Also in court Friday before Judge Burns:

ä Timothy Button, 22, pleaded innocent at arraignment to a charge of third-degree burglary.

According to court records, the incident occurred April 14 in the city of Oneonta.

Button is being held in jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.

ä Kevin K. Putnam, 43, of Richfield Springs, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years' probation for driving while intoxicated.

According to court records, the incident occurred Dec. 3.

Putnam also was fined $2,500 and assessed $520 in court fees.

ä Frank Vanca, 53, of Oneonta, pleaded innocent at arraignment to a charge of driving while intoxicated.

According to court records, the incident occurred April 31 in the town of Oneonta.

He was released on his own recognizance to return to court at a later date.

ä Steven A. English, 24, of Brooklyn, pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted assault.

According to court records, the incident occurred April 26 in Middlefield.

English is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 11.
