Delhi 4, Clinton 1

Downsville graduate Courtney Hoyt scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season, helping SUNY Delhi to a victory Sunday at Clinton Community College.

Stephanie Frechette opened the scoring for the Broncos. She scored midway through the first half off a pass from Lisa Ruff (Delhi), who has four assists on the season.

Hoyt made it 2-0 off an assist from Amanda Moffett (Walton) with 12:16 left in the half.

Kaitlyn Tetrault and Corinne Ketzlick (Milford) also scored for Delhi (6-3-1), which plays host to Columbia-Greene at 4 p.m. today.

Oneonta High graduate Breanna Gault made six saves for the Broncos.

Kate Laskey, Emily Mombourquette, Danielle Lum and Kristin Raina scored for the visiting Fighting Tigers on Sunday.

Laskey opened the scoring with 20 minutes left in the first half off an assist from Mombourquette, who made it 2-0 two minutes later on an assist from Lum.

Cobleskill (5-5) plays host to Cayuga on Tuesday.

Men's Soccer

Cobleskill 4, North Country 1

Ryan Stevens scored twice and visiting SUNY Cobleskill held North Country to four shots Sunday.

Lucas Heffron's goal in the 14th minute, off a long diaganol pass from Greg Klopfer, made it 1-0. Klopfer drove a low kick that hit Heffron in stride. Heffron touched it twice before scoring a low shot inside the left post.

Rilwan Salawu made it 2-0 in the 55th minute. He took a pass from Heffron and scored inside the left post.

"We finally found our scoring touch," said Cobleskill coach Rob Szmarz, whose team beat visiting Genesee, 5-2, Saturday. Essaha Jallow scored three goals in that game and goalie Abdou Seck made 11 saves.

The Fighting Tigers (11-1) play at Cayuga at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Volleyball

Onondaga Tournament

SUNY Delhi went 2-3 on Saturday and Sunday at the Cara Bryant Memorial Tournament at Onondaga Community College.

The Broncos (7-10) defeated Jefferson, 30-20, 21-30, 15-7, and Herkimer, 30-26, 30-27. They lost to Jamestown, 30-7, 30-13, Monroe, 30-25, 30-20, and were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Alfred State, 30-13, 30-11.

All-tournament selection Krissy Gauthier had 52 assists, 18 digs and four digs for the Broncos. Teammate Hikaru Kozuma had 68 digs, 22 kills and eight aces. Danielle Lewis contributed 37 digs and six kills, and Dani Jake had 24 kills.

Delhi plays host to the Elmira College JV team on Thursday.
