Cesily Secoolish has been named The Arc Otsego Employee of the First Quarter for 2010.

Secoolish has worked for The Arc Otsego for several years, first as a day habilitation site coordinator and then as a community job coach in the Community Employment Services Division.

Secoolish is responsible for providing support to individuals with disabilities as they seek to obtain and maintain community employment. Secoolish works with both the individual and the employer to ensure a smooth transition to the workplace and the achievement of a successful work partnership, officials said.

Assistant Executive Director Pat Knuth said Secoolish is willing to go the extra mile. "When a supported worker was going to be honored in New York City, Cesily traveled there with him, making sure he was safe and that he was supported throughout the event. She always strives to provide whatever is needed and is well respected by her co-workers and local community employers. She is a wonderful advocate for the people she serves and an outstanding representative for The Arc Otsego."

The Arc Otsego' Employee of the Quarter selection process begins with peer nominations that are solicited on a quarterly basis. Nominations are based on how well the individual's attitude and activities exemplify the agency's mission. Next, a peer group of employees, who are part of the agency Employee Recognition Committee, review the nominations and select the Employee of the Quarter.

The Arc Otsego, a private, not-for-profit organization offering comprehensive, community-based services, support and programs to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families throughout Otsego County is a chapter of NYSARC Inc., and a member of The Arc of The United States.
