Cazenovia College held its 194th commencement ceremony on May 18. The following area students received degrees. Mykahla Collins of Richfield Springs graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice and psychology; Kathleen Cotten of Richfield Springs graduated with a bachelor of Fine Arts in visual communications; Kaitlyn Cumming of Stamford graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual communications; Ryan De Tomi of Norwich graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual communications; Amanda Decker of Bainbridge graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in psychology; Danielle Lennon of Hobart graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English; Rebecca VanBuren of Richfield Springs graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in inclusive elementary education; Katlynn Vredenburgh of Bainbridge graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in international studies; and Morgan Yates of Sherburne graduated with a Bachelor of Professional Studies in business management.
Bethany Davis of East Meredith was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies, and Madison Beckemeyer of Oneonta was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania. Commencement ceremonies were May 16 and 17.
Peter J. Paluch of Oneonta was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in health sciences at Wells College in Aurora on May 18. He was also named to the spring semester dean’s list. He is attending New York Medical College in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program.
The Elmira College Class of 2019 included more than 115 graduates receiving summa cum laude, magna cum laude and cum laude honors at the college’s 161st Commencement on Sunday, June 2. The exercises included 204 undergraduate and 22 graduate students.
Local students receiving honors included Jacob Gregory of Franklin, cum laude; Jack Donnelly of Cooperstown, magna cum laude; Alyna Haywood of Walton, magna cum laude; Allie LoPresti of Norwich, magna cum laude; Carli Pinner of Downsville, magna cum laude; Janine Velardi of Walton, magna cum laude; and Maya Wasson of Fly Creek, summa cum laude.
Daniel Bosma and Mallory Timpano, both of Cherry Valley, graduated from Castleton University in Castleton, Vermont on May 18, at its 232nd commencement.
Milo Randall Cowles of Franklin was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Connecticut College at its 101st commencement ceremony on May 19. Cowles majored in government.
