Library schedules Monday celebration
OTEGO — An end of summer celebration will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Harris Memorial Library at 334 Main St. in Otego. The event will featured appearances by local magician, the Amazing Great and Animal Adventure Park. There will also be free popcorn and outdoor games. Summer reading program prizes will be awarded. The program will end with star gazing.
Game Night, where families and friends play cards and board games, will be held at the library from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14.

Talk to center on South Worcester
WORCESTER — Larry DeLong will tell the story of South Worcester, a National Historic District, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, when the Worcester Historical Society meets at 144 Main St. in Worcester. DeLong is a trustee of the society.
According to a media release, South Worcester, called Adaquitangie by the Indians and Charlotte Country during colonial times in honor of the Queen of England, is said to be one of the earliest settlements on the American frontier when a German family appeared there, perhaps in 1740, establishing homes, farms, a trading post, mill and potashery.
The public is welcome to attend DeLong’s presentation.
Flower arranging to be discussed
COOPERSTOWN — Carol Bateman Waller, owner of Mohican Flowers on Main Street in Cooperstown, will present “The Joy of Flower Arranging” at Woodside Hall at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15. Refreshments will follow.
Monthly evening programs are free for community members. Woodside Hall is at 1 Main St. in Cooperstown.
