Square Dance Club plans winter event
COOPERSTOWN — The Doubleday Dancers Modern Western Square Dance Club of Cooperstown will have its winter dance from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Cooperstown Elementary School on Walnut Street.
Ray Taylor will call Mainstream and Plus dances and Elma Taylor will Cue.
Admission is $5 per person, payable at the door.

Potluck dinner set with movie to follow
FLY CREEK — The Fly Creek United Methodist Church will host a community potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan 11.
The meal will be followed by a movie.
Drinks and dinnerware will be provided.
All are welcome to participate. The church is at 852 County Road 26 in Fly Creek.
Group tour set at Greene museum
GREENE — Chenango County historians and historical society members will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Greene Public Library at 59 Genesee St. in Greene for a meet-and-greet and tour of the Greene Historical Society’s museum.
Parking is available behind the library.
The group is also looking for speakers for its regional meeting in May and will welcome suggestions at Saturday’s meeting.
Anyone with an interest in history is welcome to attend.

Church to have pie at Saturday’s lunch
GILBERTSVILLE — A soup and sandwich luncheon will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, in New Life Fellowship Hall at Gilbertsville Baptist Church on Commercial Street.
A variety of soups, chili, sandwiches and homemade pies will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Takeouts will also be available.
Grange schedules evening meeting
GILBERTSVILLE — Butternut Valley Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Commercial Street.
The social committee will include Norm and Anna Ritchey, Laura Palada and Laurie Johnsen.
Members are encouraged to contact Anna Ritchey regarding 2020 needlecraft and woodworking contest entries and Barton Snedaker regarding art and photography contest entries. Local judging will take place at the March 9 Grange meeting.
