Library programs require head counts

WALTON — The William B. Ogden Free Library at 42 Gardiner Place in Walton has upcoming events that require head counts.

Cook with Books, Eat with Friends is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, May 23. Recipes are available at the circulation desk. Participants are asked to bring their prepared recipes for a meal and conversation. The library will provide place settings and drinks.

Participants may register now for the free Essential Oils workshop and DIY project scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 29.

The Read & Go Bus Trip to Ellis and Liberty Islands scheduled for Tuesday, June 11, will continue to book passengers until 28 seats have been sold. The $73 fee includes bus and ferry fares and admission to the Statue of Liberty. The book discussion based on the trip will at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5.

Five running for three board seats

MILFORD — There are three vacant seats on the Milford Central School District Board of Education. Each seat carries a three-year term. Candidates are Jamie Bliss, Dan Lang, Marion Mossman, Ken Stanford and William Ward. The annual vote will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, in the lobby of the school’s theater.

Needs of district to be addressed 

District caseworkers of Rep. Antonio Delgado, D-Rhinebeck, will be available to assist constituents from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Kinney Memorial Library at 3140 County Highway 11 in Hartwick and from 2 to 4 p.m. at Richfield Springs Public Library at 102 Main St. in Richfield Springs.

According to a media release, the needs and concerns of constituents who are unable to travel to Delgado’s offices in Kingston, Delhi and Oneonta, will be addressed during these and other mobile office hours being held throughout the congressman’s district.

Scouts to sponsor spaghetti dinner

COOPERSTOWN — Boy Scout Troop 1254 of Cooperstown will host a spaghetti dinner featuring homemade sauce from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 20, at the Veterans Club at 60 Main St. in Cooperstown.

In addition to pasta with homemade sauce, the meal will include sausage and meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and a beverage.

The cost is $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and younger.

Takeouts will be available at the door.

Society to hear talk by organizer

OTEGO — The Otego Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, May 20, at the town hall at 3526 State Highway 7 in Otego. Local organizing specialist Karen Sheesley will present her program “Straighten Up: Organizing your Home and Office.” Refreshments will be served.

Rabies clinic set at animal shelter

HYDE PARK — The Otsego County Department of Public Health will sponsor a free rabies clinic from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the Susquehanna SPCA at 4841 State Highway 28 in Hyde Park for dogs, cats and ferrets. Call 607-547-4230 for more information and to register.
