School to recognize military veterans
GILBERTSVILLE — Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central School will host its annual Veterans Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in the auditorium/high school cafeteria.
“Breakfast for the Brave” will recognize military veterans who have honorably served their country ahead of the Veterans Day holiday as school will be closed Monday, Nov. 11.
Breakfast casserole, sausage, juice and coffee will be served. Students Kyli Odell and Tavian Raymond will speak.

College to be site Autumn Festival
SUNY DELHI — An Autumn Festival focused on Eastern cultures will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in Farrell Commons.
Sponsored by the Asian Culture Club and the Center for Student Leadership and Engagement, the event will include traditional Asian street foods, live performances including lion dances and games for which prizes will be awarded. Admission is free.

MORRIS — A Veterans Day luncheon will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at American Legion Post 1135 at 14 S. Broad St. in Morris.
Community dinner set to honor veterans
JEFFERSON — A Veterans Day Community Dinner featuring spaghetti and meatballs will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in the cafeteria of Jefferson Central School.
Military veterans will be served a complimentary dinner. All others will pay $12. Takeout dinners will be available.
Sponsored by the Jefferson Central School Student Senate and Varsity Club, the dinner will be prepared by the JCS Foods Class.

Grange meeting set for Monday
GILBERTSVILLE — Butternut Valley Grange in Gilbertsville will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at the Grange Hall at 7 Bloom St. Bruce and Helen Ritchey, Ken and Kendra Butler and Maryanne Campbell will serve as the social committee.
The meeting will include discussion on winter meeting dates and community service projects including breakfast with Santa on Dec. 14 and tending the Salvation Army kettle at Great American in Sidney.
Several members were recognized at last month’s meeting for milestone membership years, including 40 years, Marie Broadbent and David Ireland; 50 years, Melodee Ireland; 55 years, Joseph White and Douglas Dutcher; 60 years James Matteson; and 70 years to Irmabelle Sheldon.
It was reported that at the recent annual State Grange Convention in Watertown, Roger Halbert was re-elected State Grange secretary and Roberta Halbert received the Gerald Eastman Award for service to Grange, church and community.
