Holiday hours set at health centers

WALTON —  UHS Primary Care Centers in Walton, Downsville and Roscoe will close at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving eve, Wednesday, Nov. 27. They will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28.

All other outpatient departments will also be closed Thanksgiving Day, except for the imaging (radiology) department, which may have some appointments available.

The Community Pharmacy will be open regular hours (until 8 p.m.) Thanksgiving eve. It will be closed Thanksgiving Day.

Unadilla plans day devoted to holidays

UNADILLA — Santa Saturday/Small Business Saturday and a Holiday Magic Parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30, in Unadilla.

Holiday vendors will be at the Bill Bauer Community Center (the former Masonic Temple) on Main Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be chances to win $25 gift certificates and a tree valued at $450 from the Unadilla Chamber of Commerce. Eight holiday baskets will be raffled to benefit the Unadilla Food Pantry.

A children’s holiday movie will be shown at the Unadilla Library from 10 a.m. to noon.

From noon to 12:30 p.m., music will be provided at the Community Center by the Unatego Holiday Ensemble.

Story time and kids crafts will be at the House of Consignment from 1 to 2 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m. trees will be lit along with the Main Street snowflakes with caroling at the Center.

The Holiday Magic parade will form on Sperry Street at 5 p.m. and march down Clifton to Main Street to the Community Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. There will be a variety of floats, decorated vehicles, a dance group, kazoo band and Santa Claus.

Visits with Santa at the Community Center will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. sponsored by the Unadilla Chamber of Commerce.

During Santa’s visit hot cocoa and cookies will be provided by The Meeting Place.

There will be a ugly sweater and flannel contest for adults with Santa at Green’s Long River Inn beginning at 8:30 p.m.

Festival of Lights set for Sunday

OXFORD — The annual holiday Festival of Lights and tree lighting ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, in LaFayette Park.

Winners of the 16th annual Recycled Holiday Ornament Contest and first Gingerbread House contest will be announced.

Carols will fill the air led by Oxford Academy’s student chorus members directed by the music department. Music will be provided by disc jockey Jim Baldwin of the Oxford Lions Club. Cookies will be provided by Oxford Primary School families.

Santa will visit with children and pose for photos in Hoppie’s banquet room.

The event has been organized by the Oxford Holiday Committee.
