Our Place program forced to be canceled
LAKE DELAWARE — The Our Place program at St. James Church in Lake Delaware scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9, has been canceled because of plumbing problems.
Club set to meet on non-school days
COOPERSTOWN — UPBEAT, a new group for students in first through eighth grade, will meet from 9 a.m. to noon at the Christ Church Parish Hall at 69 Fair St. in Cooperstown when school is closed for holidays and conferences. Earlier drop-off times for working parents may be arranged.
The group will have its first meeting on Friday, Oct. 11.

Sunday marketers to have harvest fest
MILFORD — A Harvest Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at the last Farmers and Craft Market of its season in Curry Park at 3898 State Route 28 in Milford.
There will be live music and free make-your-own s’mores, caramel apples and ice cream sundaes. There will also be a basket raffle. Some vendors will offer samples of their products.

Grange to hear talk on hemp industry
GILBERTSVILLE — Butternut Valley Grange will convene at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at the Grange Hall at 7 Bloom St. in Gilbertsville to hear Aiden Woishnis share information about the hemp industry, including what is involved in the ownership and operation of hemp processing, how hemp is used in various products and what opportunities exist for farmers and businesses who wish to engage in hemp production.
Members will also hear reports on the Grange’s participation at the recent Harvest Festival at The Farmers’ Museum and plans for the upcoming community Halloween observance.
It was announced that Calvin Wilcox is now a member of the Grange.
The social committee for Monday’s meeting includes Don and Dawn Gage, Glenn and Rose Foster, Molly Del Giacco and Doug and Deb Dutcher.
Eastern Star sets Monday meeting
LAURENS — The Laurens Freedom Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star will meet in regular session at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at the Masonic Temple at 7 Brook St. in Laurens.
Forest owners group to convene
BINGHAMTON — The Southern Tier Chapter of the New York State Forest Owners Association will meet at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Cornell Cooperative Extension at 840 Front St. in Binghamton. Kristina A. Ferrare and Dr. Shorna Allred will speak on legacy planning for landowners.
