Two local authors to have readings
DOWNTOWN — Local authors will read from their works from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Green Toad Bookstore at 198 Main St. in Oneonta. Included will be Kathryn DeZur of Oneonta, author of “Blue Ghosts,” and Erin Wagner of Delhi, author of The Green and Growing.”

Railroad historian to present program
SIXTH WARD — Local railroad historian Jim Louden will talk about the growth of the railroad in Oneonta and its effect on Oneonta, River Street and the Swart-Wilcox House from 1:15 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at Swart-Wilcox Houe Museum on Wilcox Avenue in Oneonta.
The program, part of the museum’s Summer Sunday series, is free and open to the public. Informal tours will be available. Light refreshments will be served. The site, which is handicapped-accessible, will open at 1 p.m. Bringing folding chairs is recommended. Parking is available on the street, in the Riverside Elementary School parking lot, or on the lawn.
