Elks Club to host fish fry Wednesday
The Oneonta Elks will host a fish fry at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The cost is $11 per person includes soup and dessert. The cost for children 8 to 13 is half price, and children 7 and younger may eat for free. The dinner is open to the public. RSVP is requested by calling the Oneonta Elks at 432-1312 by noon today.
Group to have bazaar
DKG Rho Chapter will host its annual holiday bazaar from 9 to 11:15 a.m. Saturday at St. James’ Manor in Oneonta.
As in years past, members are asked to bring white elephant items, crafts, and culinary treats, priced for purchases.
Cookies, breads, pies, snack mixes and jellies and more will be offered.
Raffle items are also sought to raise money to support the groups Grant-in-Aid scholarship, and other charitable causes. Larger items, as well items as gift baskets are needed. For more information or to donate, call Cynthia Goertemoeller at 432-5644 or Karen Rowe at 432-5520.
A holiday music program will be presented by students from the Laurens Central School music department under the direction of Mr. Malowski, vocal music, and Mr. Banewicz, instrumental music instructor, for St. James’ residents as well as DKG members and guests.
Holiday refreshments will be provided by Oneonta DKG sisters, with beverages provided by Rho members who reside at the Manor.
DAR to meet Saturday
The December meeting of the Oneonta Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Masonic Temple in Oneonta. The holiday program will include a welcome to new Sidney members, a trunk show of items from the DAR store and a program on Christmas cards. Members, their guests and perspective members are welcome.
The DAR is a women’s service organization. Any woman at least 18 years of ag, who had an ancestor who was a patriot in the Revolutionary War, and who embraces the DAR values of patriotism, historic preservation and education is eligible to join.
