PAINTING WITH A PALETTE KNIFE
SPRINGFIELD CENTER — Artist Mary Nolan will teach a class how to use and paint with a palette knife from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Springfield Community Center at 129 County Road 29A in Springfield Center.
Acrylic or oil paints may be used.
Students will need to bring lunch, small pointed palette knives, watercolor or 140 lb mixed media paper, canvas boards or stretched canvas, acrylic or oil paint, brushes and landscape photos or images from a calendar.
The fee for the class will be $15 for Leatherstocking Brush and Palette Club members or $25.

NORWICH — A clean energy workshop will be presented from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Guernsey Memorial Library at 3 Court St. in Norwich.
According to a media release, the workshop is designed to help participant become energy efficient and save money on utility bills.
Participants will be informed about state and federal incentives for home energy assessments, solar energy options and air and group source heat pumps.
Questions about energy services companies that provide electricity distributed by NYSEG will also be addressed.
Community energy advisers from Cornell Cooperative Extension will be there along with representatives from HeatSmart Southern Tier and HeatSmart Tompkins, ETM Solar Works and Delaware River Solar.
Refreshments will be available and a raffle and door prize drawing will take place.
