PEER SUPERVISION TRAINING
ONEONTA — Friends of Recovery of Delaware and Otsego Counties will sponsor workshops in New York’s Peer Professional Supervision and the Center for Addiction Recovery’s Coachervision from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 2 to 4, at 22 Elm St. in Oneonta.
According to a media release, the supervision training will include core competencies for peer supervisors and professionals, recovery coaches and peer recovery advocates working in clinical and non-clinical community based settings.
The Coachervision workshop will show participants how to best support coaches day-to-day and develop coaches for long-term success.
BE EMPOWERED TO SAVE ENERGY
Clean energy workshops have been scheduled that will address a range of upgrade options for Otsego County homeowners.
Participants will learn how free energy audits can help lower energy bills, how heat pumps save money while adding comfort and safety to their home and how solar energy can reduce their energy bills while contributing to a healthier environment.
Information on state and federal incentives for energy saving improvements will also be provided.
Heat Smart Otsego Campaign Director Bennett Sandler, Revolution Solar Principal Mary Jo Cronin, Delaware River Solar Community Outreach Coordinators Jackie Burke and Jennifer Hill and Mohawk Valley Economic Development District Community Energy Adviser Cabryn Gurdo will lead the workshops on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Red Shed Brewery’s Cooperstown taproom at 709 County Highway 33; Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the Richfield Springs Food Co-op at 140 W. Main St.; and Thursday, Jan. 9, at Awestruck Cider at 8 Winkler Road in Sidney. Workshops will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.
