Fenimore Art Museum in partnership with WSKG will offer a sneak peek at the new multi-platform PBS series “Molly of Denali” on Sunday, July 7. WSKG will screen episodes from the upcoming series at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. followed by hands-on activities in the Study Center. Visitors will also be able to view the museum’s Thaw Collection of American Indian Art and other current exhibitions.
The Fenimore Art Museum is at 5798 State Highway 80 outside Cooperstown. This special programming is included with admission. Museum members and children 12 are admitted free. Find more information at FenimoreArt.org.
Each episode of “Molly of Denali” follows Molly, her friends and family through daily life and adventures in Alaska, from planting vegetables and building snow forts, to learning native songs from the village elders, to racing in a canoe competition.Children can join Molly, her dog Suki, and friends Tooey and Trini on their adventures in Alaska through the series, podcast, app, games and more.
The show is geared toward children 4 to 8. “Molly of Denali” is the first nationally distributed children’s series to feature a Native American lead character, presenters said in the media release.
