Conference for men planned in Greene

GREENE — The Triple Cities Iron Sharpens Iron 2020 Men’s Conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:55 p.m  Saturday, March 14, at Berean Bible Church at 109 County Road 2 in Greene. 

The conference is open to teenage boys and adult men. Dress is casual. Preregistration is requested. Discounted student and group rates are available.

According to a media release, Iron Sharpens Iron Founder and President Brian Doyle served with The Navigators in New England, then as New England area manager for Promise Keepers and as director of Vision New England Men’s Ministries.

The goal of the ISI ministry is to equip local churches to train men to be spiritual leaders in their homes, churches and communities.

Students to help with relief efforts

FLY CREEK — More than $200 was raised by the Sunday school class at the Fly Creek United Methodist Church during a bake sale and coffee hour held on Sunday, Feb 9. The money will be directed to Australia Wildlife Relief efforts.

Changes announced in Mass schedule

COOPERSTOWN — St. Mary’s “Our Lady of the Lake” Roman Catholic Church at 31 Elm St. in Cooperstown will reduce its Mass schedule starting with the weekend of Feb. 15 and 16.

Masses will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. Sundays through May. Religious education classes will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Sundays.
