The Cooperstown Rotary Club has announced in a media release that it recently provided a total of $4,000 from its fall allocations to The Angel Network, Cooperstown Community Christmas Committee, Cooperstown Food Pantry, Cooperstown Senior Community Center, Family Service Association, Fenimore Art Museum, Otsego Land Trust, Regional Food Bank, Relay for Life, and the Susquehanna SPCA.

“Magical Thinking” by Maggie Millner, formerly of Cherry Valley, will be published in the Winter 2019-20 issue of Plougshares, according to a media release.
Ploughshares is described as a journal of new writing.
Millner is a poet and teacher.
Her recent poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Gulf Coast, The Iowa Review, Freeman’s, Zyzzyva and The Literary Review.
She has degrees in poetry from NYU and Brown and lives in central Pennsylvania, where she is a 2019–20 Stadler Fellow at Bucknell University.
Don Crosby of Barrington, Illinois, a 1970 graduate of Bainbridge-Guilford Central School, was elected chairman of the board of Your Grateful Nation, a nonprofit organization founded in 2013.
According to a media release, Your Grateful Nation is committed to assisting top tier special operators transition from the military to the next phase of their lives. Crosby’s position became effective Jan. 1.
As further stated in the release, Crosby, a Marine Corps veteran, served as vice chairman of the YGN board since 2016.
He is a former senior vice president of Global Human Resources for McDonald’s Corp. headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.
