Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, the not-for-profit support group for the Department of Environmental Conservation's Rogers Environmental Education Center, is offering four full scholarships to attend week-long Teenage Ecology Workshop sessions at DEC's Pack Forest Camp.
Teens ages 15 through 17 who are interested in attending and are New York state residents are eligible for the scholarships.
For more than 60 years, the DEC has provided one-week residential summer camps where campers explore and understand pond, stream, field and forest ecosystems and meet other teens in Pack Forest.
Pack Forest is in Warren County in the Adirondack Park on 2,500 acres of woodlands with an 85-acre lake. It offers mountain views, marshes and Hudson River access.
DEC camp fees are $325 per camper per week.
The scholarship application deadline is Jan. 15. Applications must include a written statement explaining why applicants wish to attend, and a letter of recommendation from someone other than a relative. Scholarship recipients will be required to submit a brief post-camp summary of their experience.
For application materials, contact Rogers Center at 674-4017 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
