SOUTH KORTRIGHT _ The annual Junior Prom of the South Kortright Central School was held in the school gym Friday evening, May 1. The theme of the dance was "May Day in Paris," with music provided by Erne Russ.
The highlight of the evening was the crowning of the King and Queen of the Junior Prom, Linda Kenyon of Bloomville was elected Queen, and Neil Riddell, also of Bloomville, was elected King.
The Queen's attendants were Jo Ann McIntosh of Bloomville, Betty Van Buren of Hobart and Betty Melin of South Kortright. The King's attendants were Dennis Brockway, Fred Joedicke and Andrew Cline, all of Hobart.
The King and Queen were crowned by George Skog of Kortright Station and Damaris Yanson of Hobart, King and Queen of last year's prom. The crown bearers were Phyllis Milewski of South Kortright, and Robert Riddell of Oneonta, nephew of the King.

LAURENS _ Barbara Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Baker, was named queen of the Laurens Fire Department recently. Runner-up was Michelle Dyal, daughter of Mary and Charles Dyal.
Victor Hill of West Oneonta was master of ceremonies of the program held in the firehall. Judges were Kathy Davis, personnel manager at K-Mart; Donna Paris, secretary to the Otsego County Fire Coordinator; and Fred Paris, economic developer for Otsego County.
