Oct. 22, 1982

The grand opening of The Little Acorn is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Located at 351 Chestnut St., Oneonta, next to Packard's Maternity, the shop features handcrafted items, stained glass, dried and silk arrangements and more.

50 years ago

Oct. 22, 1957

Sorority tea was held last week at Bonnie Trinkino's house, 34 Spruce St. Karen Weygand greeted at the door, Martha Van Buren and Betty Erickson were serving tea and coffee.

Cookies were also served. Tau Phi Epsilon's new rushees were invited.

The formal initiation dinner was held Oct. 18 at the Rex Restaurant for 16 girls. The new girls are Mary Jayne Joyce, Jane Leamy, Elaine Dommeruth, Jo Ann Lewis, Donna Ransford, Sharon Moorby, Pat Duffy, Marilyn Dowd, Ruth Edmunds, Andy Fitzelle, Jackie Austin, Shirley Schivitz, Ruth Ouimette, Katy Bookhout and Gail Townsend.

The table was decorated with white flowers and green candles. Seated at the officers table were Bonnie Trinkino, Judy Johnson, Betty Erickson, Gail Townsend, Carol Fritts and Ginger Van Deusen.
