The Greater Afton Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting event to honor the grand opening of Guardian Property Management and Tammy Palmetier Real Estate from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.
Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony at 126 Main St. in Afton.
The mother of four and grandmother of eight, Palmetier was born and raised in Afton, where she began her career in real estate in 2008 after working at Afton Central School for 13 years, according to a media release.
Palmetier established Guardian Property Management in 2016 to assist landlords in all aspects of renting and maintaining their income properties, the release said.
She expanded the venture in January and founded the Tammy Palmetier Real Estate Company to offer services in buying and selling local properties, and recently added Rosie Cepero to the team.

Adult home to host open house
Woodside Hall, a Cooperstown adult home offering social day program and respite care services, will host an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Delaware chamber to host Delgado
Rep. Antonio Delgado, D-Rhinebeck, will be the featured speaker at a business breakfast hosted by the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce next month.
Ate-O-Ate Catering will sponsor the event, part of the chamber’s “first Friday eat and meet” series, at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Kirkside Park Pavilion in Roxbury.
Delgado, a member of the House Agriculture, Small Business and Transportation and Infrastructure committees, will speak about accomplishments and initiatives and answer questions from attendees, according to a media release.
