Woodside Hall to host open house next week

The Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce will host its annual business hall of fame awards ceremony and annual meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at Brewery Ommegang.

Class of 2019 hall of fame inductees include the Cooperstown Bat Company, the Cooperstown Farmer’s Market, the Cooperstown Fire Department, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Pathfinder Village and Stagecoach Coffee.

Chamber Executive Director Matt Hazzard said the event will also provide members with a chance to meet his successor, Tara Burke.

Delaware chamber to host job fairs

The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce will host job and resource fairs  from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, at the Otsego Northern Catskills BOCES campus in Grand Gorge and on Thursday, April 11, at the Delaware Chenango Madison Otsego BOCES Harrold campus in Masonville.

Employers will interview applicants, accept resumes and offer advice about how to prepare for employment with their companies, as well as present an overview of the companies and provide descriptions of current job openings.

The event will be targeted toward recent high school and college graduates and job-seeking community members, according to a release.

NBT makes Forbes list

Forbes’ 2019 list of the World’s Best Banks rated NBT Bank the No. 1 bank in New York state, according to a media release.

The ranking was based on customer feedback, according to the release, based on more than 40,000 survey responses from around the world. The banks were rated on overall recommendation and satisfaction and five other factors: trust, terms and conditions, customer services, digital services and financial advice.

“Selection of NBT by Forbes as one of the World’s Best Banks is affirmation that the best team in community banking continues to provide our customers a great experience,” NBT Bank President and CEO John H. Watt Jr. said.

NBT is also the top-ranked bank in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and in northeastern Pennsylvania, and ranks No. 14 nationally, according to Forbes.
