Brewster Moonface to play on train

MILFORD — The Cooperstown Blues Express will presentsBrewster Moonface on Saturday, Aug. 10.

The train will start boarding at the Milford depot at 136 E. Main St. at 6:30 p.m. It will leave at 7 p.m.

It will return around 10 p.m. Those who attend must be 21 or older with a valid ID to ride.

A cash bar will be available.

Artwork on display at Sidney library

SIDNEY — The work of local artist, writer and art teacher Alyssa Hardy is on display at the Sidney Memorial Public Library at 8 River St. in Sidney through Aug. 30.

The exhibit features some of her most recent artwork — realistic watercolor portraits of literary and TV characters as well as some famous musicians. The library will host a meet-the-artist event from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23.

Grange to host music concert

PIERSTOWN — The annual Memorial Chamber Music Concert at the Pierstown Grange Hall featuring musicians from the Glimmerglass Festival Orchestra will take place at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 . The community event is open to all at no charge. Glimmerglass Festival violinist Ubaldo Valli has arranged the program including works by Puccini and Janacek. Pierstown Grange Hall is at 137 Wedderspoon Hollow Road in Cooperstown. The upstairs concert area is temporarily not handicapped accessible. For information, call 607-264-3069.

Young artists play at Huntington Park

ONEONTA — The Glimmerglass Festival Young Artists Program will perform its second Concert in the Park at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, in Huntington Park. Those who attend should bring a blanket or chair. The concert will take place at the gazebo near the main entrance to the library and is co-sponsored by the Huntington Memorial Library and the Greater Oneonta Historical Society.
