"At Home at Tom and Erna's" Concert Series will present pianist Jeremy Wall and vocalist Colby Thomas at noon Sunday at 1077 Otego Road in Franklin.

Wall is the co-founder of Grammy-nominated jazz fusion group Spyro Gyra, and has worked as a producer, keyboardist and arranger. Thomas is a classically trained singer and actress with experience in musical theater.

Major's Inn to host benefit concert

The Major's Inn in Gilbertsville will host a benefit concert for ongoing restoration of the facility at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Performers will be John Edick and Ken Held of Festish Lane, as well as Jonathan Dokuchitz.

Bluegrass will be the music of the night.

The public is invited by presenters to bring a picnic, chairs and blankets, as the concert will be outside on the side lawn.

Big Galut(e) to play in Cherry Valley

Jewish folk music and klezmer band Big Galut(e) will play at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Star Theater, 44 Main St. in Cherry Valley.

The group specializes in a variety of Jewish musical styles, including Yiddish, Sephardic and Middle Eastern/Levantine.

In addition to music, the performance will include stories and humor inspired by the Yiddish Theater.

The group said it gets its name from the Hebrew word for "diaspora," as well as hinting at the combination of instruments including baroque guitar, a giant lute, clarinet, violin, bass and accordion.
