Works by David Beale of Cortland and Jared Cole of Endicott will be on display during November at the Made In Chenango Gallery and Gift Shop in downtown Norwich. An artists' reception will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12.
Beale, a watercolor teacher and gallery/frame shop owner, has had his watercolor paintings exhibited in numerous national and international juried exhibits, and has led watercolor workshops across the country. Beale and his wife, Kathie, have been building a cottage on a wildlife pond near Cortland, which Beale said has given him many hours of inspiration for his paintings.
Cole was inspired by his grandfather to begin collecting stones, and started his own mineral and crystal collection. He recently began wrapping them in wire to create necklaces and earrings.
"I have always found myself fascinated by the world around me, especially when it comes to the wonders our planet creates," Cole said in the release. "Some of the most incredible of these wonders are the crystals and stones that our Mother Earth has formed from within."
