Boise, Idaho, singer/songwriter Eilen Jewell will take the stage at Earlville Opera House at 8 p.m. Friday, July 5.
Jewell’s newest album “Gypsy” will be released in August by Signature Sounds Recordings.
She blends heavy electric guitars and dirty fiddles on the country rocker “Crawl,” with the sweet and understated horn section of the tender “Witness” (The Meow Song), which “skewers sexism and discrimination with pointed humor,” presenters said in a media release. Classic country will be heard on the pedal-steel driven “These Blues,” and the sole cover on “Gypsy,” “You Cared Enough to Lie,” written by fellow Idahoan and country musician Pinto Bennett. The 12 tracks on Jewell’s eighth studio album is a “remarkably cohesive full-length,” album, the release said.
Tickets are $26 for nonmembers, $23 for members, half off general admission for college students and $10 for those 17 and younger. Visit www.earlvilleoperahouse.com or call 315-691-3550 to reserve tickets.
