The Dunderberg Gallery’s exhibit “Small Works Represent Big Ideas” will have a closing reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11.
The exhibit features the work of Butternut Valley artists, including works by Charles Bremer, Chelsea Gibson, Carla Hall, Simone Mantellassi, Elizabeth Nields, Gordon Rice, Jason Roth, Dennis Stahl and Daniel Velle.
According to a media release: “Many of these artists have displayed their work on a grand scale; filling entire walls, or reaching above roof tops with a single piece, so the size and intimate scale of this exhibit is both evocative and surprising … paintings, drawings, collage, sculpture, photography, and ceramics, collectively inviting the viewer to observe up close, a truly personal experience. The variety of challenging artistic techniques, styles of expression and subjects range from a moment in time, to exploring complex topics like evolution and extinction. The ideas behind these creations are diverse, robust and provocative.
John Colonna and Rich Molin will play music at the reception, which will be at the Dunderberg Gallery at 118 Marion Avenue in Gilbertsville. Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m., and also by appointment.
