An appearance by Michael Buck in Otsego County Court has been postponed.
Buck was scheduled to appear in court at 1 p.m. on Monday. That appearance, however, was rescheduled on Oct. 29, according to Christy Bass, chief clerk at the Otsego County Court. Buck’s appearance will now take place at 9:30 a.m on Nov. 18.
“I didn’t ask for it and neither did the defense attorney,” said Otsego County District Attorney John Muehl, when asked why the date had been moved.
Muehl said that he thought the appearance date had been changed at the request of the court.
According to Bass the appearance is a control date.
Buck has been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and first-degree criminal use of a firearm in connection with a shooting incident in the early morning hours of Sept. 21 that left Joseph Buck, Michael Buck’s father, dead and Buck with a bullet wound to his right cheek. The incident took place in the home they shared on 163 Indian Run Road in Middlefield.
If convicted, Buck could face up to 25 years to life in prison.
