Police found several illegally possessed long guns and cash at an Afton man’s home on Friday, according to Chenango County Sheriff’s deputies.
Chenango deputies, state police and Norwich city police executed a no-knock search warrant at the town of Afton home on Friday morning, deputies said. The warrant stemmed from illegal drug activity at the residence.
Allan G. Shepard, 53, was charged with first-degree criminal nuisance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon after police found several long guns, which Shepard was not allowed to have because of a prior felony conviction.
Shepard was arraigned in the Town of Afton Court and sent to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $30,000 cash bail.
