Arson suspect remains jailed
The man accused of trying to start a fire behind the Main Street Community Bank earlier this month remains behind bars.
Gable Bugel, 22, of Oneonta, was charged with attempted third-degree arson April 16 for allegedly trying to spark that blaze, which was one of a series of suspicious fires or fire attempts the previous weekend.
He had originally been jailed without bail on the felony charge after an arraignment before Judge Lucy Bernier. But bail was later set by Bernier at $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond.
Bugel was still at the Otsego County jail Tuesday night. No new suspicious fires have been reported.
He is slated to return to court Tuesday for further proceedings.
