Chenango County sheriff’s deputies report they arrested two Cortland residents on charges related to burglaries committed in Chenango County.
According to a media release, brothers Michael Maricle, 20, and Matthew Maricle, 24, are accused of committing multiple burglaries in the towns of Pharsalia and Plymouth. Deputies said the arrests were the result of a joint investigation with state police, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
It is alleged that the brothers broke into homes and stole several items, including firearms. Police said more arrests are expected.
The brothers were arraigned in the town of Oxford Court and are scheduled to return to court at a later date.
