State Sen. James L. Seward, R–Milford, issued a news release Monday saying he had learned that convicted killer David Dart had been denied parole.
Dart is in prison for the 1989 murder of Gillian “Jill” Gibbons, an 18-year-old woman who was stabbed to death in Oneonta.
“The parole denial for convicted killer David Dart is welcome news for the family of Gillian Gibbons and the safety of our entire community. Certainly, there will be one more thing for all of us to be thankful for this Thanksgiving,” Seward said.
Seward called Dart “a cold-blooded killer, who has shown no remorse,” and said the man “needs to stay in prison.” He said he is pleased that the parole board agreed.
