State police on Friday announced the arrest of four people in connection with a suspicious death Thursday night in the town of Worcester.

Nicolas Meridy, 32, was arrested with two 15-year-olds and a 17-year-old, whose names have not been released, and charged with second-degree murder, according to a media release.

Additional charges are pending against the four suspects, who are all from the Oneonta area, according to the release.

Troop C Public Information Officer Aga Dembinska said Meridy is from the city of Oneonta. No further information about the other three suspects, including where they are from, can be released because they are protected as juveniles, she said.

All four were reported to be in state police custody and scheduled for arraignment Friday evening.

Around 9:15 p.m. Oct. 10, troopers responded to reports of a house fire at a Head Road residence, where Kenneth W. Robinson, 53, was found dead. An initial investigation determined Robinson sustained a fatal gunshot wound, according to the release.

Troopers said the incident was not a random act of violence and there is no threat to the public. There are no additional suspects, according to the release.

Troopers were assisted by the City of Oneonta Police Department, the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Park Police, New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control and fire departments from Worcester and East Worcester.
