Close to $30,000 has been raised to support the Sabler family of Cherry Valley, whose house was destroyed by fire early Thursday morning, killing three occupants.
Anthony Sabler, 13, Gabrielle F. Sabler, 20, and Ashley A. Tefft, 22, died in the fire that occurred at about 3:45 a.m. Thursday at 165 Hone Road. Frank Sabler, father of Anthony and Gabrielle, was burned trying to rescue the three young people.
The Sabler Family Fire Rescue Fund on the fundraising website GoFundMe reported $29,075 had been raised toward a goal of $40,000 as of Sunday night. The page can be found at http://www.gofundme.com/qsghyw.
"Happy Easter! Celebrate life!" read a message posted on the page Sunday. "The Sabler Family is absolutely flabbergasted by all the love and support they have been given. There are no words to describe the weight that is being lifted off heir shoulders with the financial support you are giving them. Our community is amazing! But there is still so much more work to be done."
The Sabler family update noted that funeral arrangements are being made and that Frank Sabler is still in the hospital.
A second GoFundMe page for Ashley Tefft had raised $1,820 toward a goal of $2,000 as of Sunday night. The page can be found at http://www.gofundme.com/qsp2w4/.
