With a winter storm expected to hit the area Sunday through Monday, the following reminders and schedule changes have been issued:
The city of Oneonta lifted parking restrictions in the municipal parking garage and lots effective 6 p.m. today, Saturday, Nov. 30. Vehicles cannot be parked on city streets after 2½ inches of snow fall. Any vehicles left on the streets after 2½ inches of snowfall are subject to ticketing or towing at the owners expense.
The showing of "Fast Color" as part of the Get Woke film series at SUNY Delhi originally scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 1, has been postponed. A new date has not yet been set.
Our local colleges have adjusted the residence hall reopening schedules.
At SUNY Delhi, residence halls will open at 5 p.m. today, but the on-campus eatery, Farrell Commons, will not open until 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. Students who return early need to be prepared to provide their own meals until Farrell Commons opens on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
SUNY Oneonta announced it will open the residence halls early, at 5 p.m. today, to allow students and families to travel safely. With limited staffing, according to a Facebook post, the college is still encouraging students to return Sunday morning if they can, because Wilsbach dining hall will not be available until noon Sunday. Hulbert dining will reopen at 4 p.m. Sunday. Students who plan to return Saturday should be prepared to provide their own meals until lunch on Sunday. Each building has a community kitchen available for food preparation. Card access will allow students to enter buildings starting at 5 p.m. today, and duty phone numbers for each building will be posted at that time.
Hartwick College residence halls opened today for those who wish to return to campus early. The Commons will offer limited dining options starting at noon Sunday, and full dinner service Sunday evening. Based on the storm’s progression, the status of Monday’s classes and activities will be determined later, according to a Facebook post by the college.
SUNY Cobleskill will open its residence halls at 2 p.m. today to allow students and families to travel safely. Students who plan to return today should be prepared to provide their own meals until 3 p.m. Sunday when Prentice Dining Hall is scheduled to reopen. Each building has a community kitchen available for food preparation.
