Man charged with felony ID theft
A Hollis Points man was arrested Friday on seven felonies, Oneonta police said.
Alexander Lafayette was charged with first-degree forgery, two counts of first-degree identity theft, first-degree attempted identity theft, second-degree possession of a forged instrument, first-degree falsifying business records, and third-degree attempted grand larceny.
The charges stem from his applying for a $20,000 loan at NBT Bank using someone else’s name and social security number, police said. He was held without bail, pending a Saturday arraignment.
