COOPERSTOWN -- A 17-year-old Onondaga County student is facing a felony charge after he allegedly claimed through a text message that a bomb had been planted on a bus taking a school group to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, state police reported Thursday.
Antheny C. Bush of Nedrow was charged with second-degree falsely reporting following an investigation in which the Otsego County Sheriff's Department assisted state police.
The bomb threat delayed two bus loads of children headed from Onondaga Central School -- where Bush is a member of the track--field team -- to the Hall of Fame. The students were able to complete the trip after authorities searched the buses found no bomb. Bush was issued an appearance ticket will be arraigned at a later date in Onondaga Town Court, troopers said.
