The town of Hartwick will celebrate from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, with the inaugural Hartwick Country Living Festival at the town ball fields on Wells Avenue in the hamlet of Hartwick.
The event will feature samples, demonstrations and products made locally in Hartwick and Otsego County, including maple syrup, flower arrangements, beekeeping, cider pressing, applesauce making, garlic braiding and grilling. There will also be camping- and fishing-related displays.
There will be a farmers' market with locally grown and made products for sale. There will also be locally sourced concessions, including food and beer.
There will be farm animals, wagon rides and a pumpkin patch.
NY Cornhole will host a cornhole tournament. The cost is $10 per person or $20 per team, with cash prizes for first and second place winners in all categories. Go to www.nycornhole.com/tournaments/ to sign up.
In conjunction with the event, the Cooperstown Equestrian Park will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The park is at 3444 county Route 11 in Hartwick.
After the festival, the Hartwick 4-H Theatre Guild will host a talent show at 7 p.m. at the Hartwick Community Center on Route 11. All ages and talent levels are welcome to participate. Refreshments will be available and cash prizes will be awarded based on audience favorites.
