State police said two teenagers were badly injured when this truck struck a tree along Walley Road in Franklin.

State Police said a Thursday afternoon crash in Franklin has left two teens in serious condition.

According to a media release, troopers from the Oneonta station were dispatched at 4:31 p.m. to the area of Walley Road in the town of Franklin.  Troopers said they  found a 1996 Chevy pick-up truck with a 17-year-old male driver and 14-year-old male passenger crashed into a tree.

Troopers said an investigation revealed that speed was a contributing factor when the 17-year-old lost control of the vehicle on a curve on Wally Road, spun off the roadway and struck the tree.  Both occupants were transported by a LifeNet helicopter to Albany Medical Center.

Troopers said the accident remains under investigation.
