Delaware County authorities said Monday that two women were arrested after being indicted by a grand jury on felony drug charges.
Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced in a media release that indictments were handed down Thursday, Aug. 8, related to two unrelated narcotics trafficking investigations conducted in the Hancock area.
As a result, Anna I. Kellam, 31, Hancock, was arrested the same day pursuant to a warrant charging her with three counts of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class D felony. Kellam is accused of selling Clonazepam, a prescription controlled substance, in the village of Hancock on three occasions during April 2019.
Deputies said Kellam was arrested at the Delaware County Correctional Facility, where she is being held on unrelated charges. She was arraigned in Delaware County Court and was ordered held in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 secured bond.
On Friday, Aug. 9, officers of the Endicott Police Department, acting on a request from Delaware investigators, located and arrested Crystal L. Smith, 43, of Endicott, and formerly of Equinunk, Pennsylvania, on a warrant charging her with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class C felony. Smith was turned over to Delaware deputies and was transported to the Delaware County Correctional Facility, where she was held pending arraignment.
Smith was arraigned in Delaware County Court on Monday and was ordered held without bail pending continuation of her arraignment.
Smith is accused of selling Suboxone, a prescription controlled substance, in the village of Hancock on two occasions during April 2019.
