After three successful years on the West Coast, Claude VonStroke and Dirtybird Records will take Dirtybird Campout east.

Dirtybird fans will flock south from Feb. 2 to Feb. 4 and gather in an undisclosed location, near St. Cloud Florida for the first Dirtybird Eastcoast Campout.  The initial artist announcement included Dirtybird Campout mastermind Claude VonStroke, Billy Kenny, Biz Markie, Claptone, Mija, MK, Tiga, Will Clarke and many more.

With the Phase 2 lineup announcement came the addition of Get Real, which features a duo performance of VonStorke and Green Velvet — most definitely a must see at the Campout. The rest of the announcement was stacked with performances from DJs and Producers Seth Troxler, Walker & Royce, Destructo, Ivy Lab, Hector and a solo set (maybe more) from Green Velvet. The announcement also featured a few "special guest" slots. If I had to guess, I would say fans will be blessed with Barclay Crenhaw, Justin Martin and Shiba San. One can dream.

Over the big New Year week in New York, I was fortunate to see sets by Claptone and a few Dirtybird Records artists, including Will Clarke. Seeing Clarke was a first for me. He played an awesome variety of music including house, minimal, and tech-house under a giant disco ball at Brooklyns Shimanski on Jan. 30.  It will be quite interesting to see what he will do in a festival environment.

Dirtybird Records artists are mainly house-music oriented. However, the lineup also features other varieties of music and, on top of a great lineup, Dirtybird Campout East offers much more. This festival is a little different from other electronic music festivals. Other than having a house-heavy lineup, which is very much appreciated by me, it also has a huge offering of games and activities. New activities include Gator Wrestling, Ax Throwing, a hyphy hula-hoop competition, a roller rink, on top of many more new and returning activities .
