Oneonta girls basketball opened its season with a 59-33 victory over visiting Windsor on Tuesday.

Ang McGraw’s 15 points led the Yellow Jackets’ balanced attack, which saw each player record a basket.

Teammate Hannah Johnson had 13 points and a team-high six assists, while Ava Eichler scored 11 points.

Prior to the game, the Yellow Jackets honored their six seniors: Yuliah Johnson, Macky Catan, Anika Buzzy, Hannah Johnson, Jenna Gaisford and Ava Eichler.

Oneonta took a 26-19 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter the Yellow Jackets’ defense held Windsor to just seven points, building the team’s lead to 47-26.

Buzzy scored five points and led all rebounders with 12.

Oneonta’s next game will be on the road at Windsor on Monday, Feb. 15.
