Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Walton scored two unanswered goals in its 2-1 win over Windsor and secured a spot in the Windsor Tournament championship game.

Jacqlyn Gransbury and Lauren Frank scored for the Warriors in their season-opening win.

Grace Beattie put Windsor ahead, 1-0, with eight minutes left in the first half on a blast from just above the stroke mark.

Walton knotted the score on a goal from Gransbury seven minutes into the second half. Frank potted the game-winner shortly after, on a penalty corner pass from Gransbury.

Katelynn Brooks also recorded an assist for the Warriors.

Walton (1-0) plays Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Harpursville-Afton 270, Delhi 295

Logan Culver fired the lowest score of the match as Harpursville-Afton stayed undefeated with victory over Delhi on Friday at The College Course at Delhi.

Culver earned medalist honors with a six-over 42 on the course’s front nine. Jason Reeve (49), Cameron Smith (57), Cooper Smith (63) and Tanner Hanson (67) finished out the scoring for H-A.

Sam Lees led Delhi, shooting a 52. Lees was followed by Corey Zwick (55), Cameron Thomson (60), Bronson Thomson (62) and Jackson Demeo-Meres (66).

Harpursville-Afton travels to Bainbridge-Guilford on Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. match.

GIRLS SOCCER

Chenango Forks 8, Oneonta 2

Mary Brantley and Hannah Johnson tallied goals for Oneonta on Thursday in its defeat to the defending state champion Chenango Forks.

Lauren Ashman and Emma Bough each slotted a pair of goals for Chenango Forks, while Sophie Rusnak, Aubrey Bough and Gia Pittarelli added strikes for the four-time reigning section champs.

Chenango Forks controlled much of the offense, outshooting the Yellow Jackets 20-8 while holding a 6-2 advantage in corners.

Oneonta (1-1) heads to Chenango Valley on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
