CSC to hold basketball tourney

The Clark Sports Center will hold a 4-on-4 co-ed basketball tournament Nov. 11.

O-State to host baseball clinics

Oneonta State will hold a series of high school baseball clinics this month.

Clinics will run from 9 a.m.-noon this Sunday, as well as Nov. 16 and 23, rain or shine. Registration runs from 8-9 a.m. each day. Cost is $40 per camper per clinic.

The clinics are open to all high school-aged players (classes of 2015-18) and will be held at Red Dragon Baseball Field or Alumni Field House.

SUNY Delhi sets pool hours

SUNY Delhi’s pool hours through Dec. 14 are as follows:

Monday-Thursday: Open Swim, 8-9:30 p.m.

Monday-Friday: Lap Swim, 7-8 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 5-6 p.m.

M,W,Th: Water Aerobics, 4-5 p.m.

Friday: Open Swim, 7-9 p.m.

Saturday-Sunday: Open Swim, 1-5 p.m.

Pool hours may change without notice.

The Nov. 11 lap swim will run from 11 a.m.-noon. There will be no open swim Nov. 22 because of a college meet. The pool will close for the Thanksgiving break after the 11 a.m.-1 p.m. lap swim Nov. 25 and reopen Dec. 1. There will be no 11 a.m.-1 p.m. lap swim Dec. 2.

State championship tickets on sale

Tickets are on sale for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association fall championships. Advanced tickets may be purchased for state semifinals and finals by visiting the website ticketleap.com and searching by sport.

The following is a list of state semifinals and championships set for November.

Nov. 14: Boys volleyball.

Nov. 15-16: Field hockey; boys soccer; girls soccer; girls volleyball.

Nov. 21-22: Football East semifinals; Football West semifinals; girls swimming.

Nov. 29-30: Football championships.

The online ticketing platform also offers tournament schedules and directions to venues.

Lacrosse session starts Nov. 17

The winter session of LacrosseOneonta at the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club will run Mondays from Nov. 17-Jan. 12.

Youths in grades 3-6 will play from 6-7 p.m., followed by grades 7-9 from 7-8 p.m. and grades 10-12 from 8-9 p.m.

Participation is free, but youths must be members of the OBGC and are required to sign in each night.

A limited amount of equipment is available, if needed.

YMCA to host youth program

The Oneonta Family YMCA will offer its Teen Sports Conditioning program from 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through Nov. 20 at the Center Street School in Oneonta.

The program is open to students in grades 5-8. It will not run during school breaks or holidays.

Pre-registration at the YMCA is required. There is a one-time $20 application fee.

Remy tourney runs Nov. 20-22

Milford Central will host its annual Anton Remy Basketball Tournament from Nov. 20-22.

Franklin’s boys will play Harpursville in the tournament opener at 6 p.m. Nov. 20, followed by Milford’s girls agains Harpursville at 7:30 p.m.

On Nov. 21, Cherry Valley-Springfield’s girls will play Brookfield at 6 p.m., followed by Milford’s boys against Bainbridge-Guilford at 7:30 p.m.

The tournament concludes with four games Nov. 22. The girls and boys consolation games will start at 2 and 3:30 p.m., respectively. The girls championship game is set for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 22, followed by the boys championship game at 7 p.m.

State football finals set

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association will hold its 2014 football state finals at Syracuse’s Carrier Dome in November.

The Class D state final will start at noon Nov. 29, followed by Class C at 3 p.m. and Class AA at 6 p.m.

The Class B state title game will begin at noon Nov. 30, followed by Class A at 3 p.m.

Dietz Stadium in Kingston will host the East state semifinals Nov. 21 (Class D, 4 p.m.; Class A, 8 p.m.) and Nov. 22 (Class C, 11 a.m.; Class B, 3 p.m.; Class AA, 7 p.m.).

Sahlen’s Stadium in Rochester will host the West state semifinals Nov. 21 (Class D, 5 p.m.; Class A, 8 p.m.) and Nov. 22 (Class C, noon; Class B, 3 p.m.; Class AA, 6 p.m.).

Turkey Trot set for Nov. 27

Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care will hold its second annual Turkey Trot on Nov. 27.

The 5-kilometer run and 2.5K walk starts and ends at the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club on River Street.

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., with the event to follow at 9 a.m.

Registration fee is $20 by Nov. 10 and $25 thereafter. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register by Nov. 10. Early registration also will be available from 4-7 p.m. Nov. 26 at the OBGC.

The event will include a memorial balloon release. Proceeds will provide funding for Catskill Area Hospice’s “Perfect Gift” program.
