Baseball Hall to celebrate Yanks on Saturday
The National Baseball Hall of Fame will host Yankees Family Day on Saturday and Aug. 24.
Those days will feature heroes, legends and moments throughout the history of the New York Yankees, along with guided exhibit tours. Artifact spotlights, trivia contests and themed craft stations.
Those competing in Sunday’s BASE Race in Cooperstown will receive complimentary admission for the Yankees Family Day celebration Saturday.

Colonial Ridge to host tourney Saturday
Colonial Ridge Golf in Laurens will host the John Dodge Memorial, which will begin with a shotgun start at 8 p.m. Saturday.
It’s a four-person Captain-and-crew format. The entry fee is $25 per person and includes cash prizes for gross score, net score, pin shots and skins.

MX Weekend set for Friday-Sunday
Unadilla Motocross in New Berlin will host the Pro National MX Weekend from Friday through Sunday at the Unadilla Valley Sports Center.
The UVSC also will host the Grand National Cross Country from Sept. 7-8.
Golf events to benefit soccer club
The Headwaters Soccer Club will hold the fifth annual Ouleout Creek Charity Golf Tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday in Franklin.
Entry fee for the scramble tournament is $60 per person and includes greens fees, cart and buffet. First-, second- and third-place teams will receive awards. Golfers may register as teams or as individuals.
Proceeds from the charity golf tournament will benefit the HSC summer soccer camp program.

Buck Fever Night is Saturday
Whitetails Unlimited will sponsor the Oneonta Area Buck Fever Night on Saturday at the Oneonta Elks Club at 84 Chestnut St. in Oneonta.
The event will feature a two-meat dinner, an auction and prizes. Proceeds will benefit local youth hunting programs such as 4H and Archery in the Schools.
The social hour begins at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 10, with dinner to follow at 6 p.m.
Tickets cost $35 each, $20 for a spouse and $15 for juniors ages 15 and younger. Deadline to order tickets is Aug. 3. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

BASE Race set for Sunday
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown will host the second annual BASE Race on Sunday.
The event features a competitive 10-kilometer race at 8 a.m. and a family-style 5K run at 8:15 a.m. Both events start and finish at the CSC.
Registration is $25 for adults and $50 for families until race day, when registration will be $40 for individuals and $65 for families.
Proceeds support outreach for the “Be A Superior Example” program, which promotes the concepts of healthy lifestyle choices by educating students about the dangers of performance-enhancing substances.
The Hall also will hold a pre-race gathering for runners Aug. 10. Details will be released later this spring.

The Midstate Arms Collectors and Shooters Club will host gun and knife shows from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on the following dates.

YMCA to host camp Aug. 12-16
The Oneonta Family YMCA’s Guardstart Youth Camp will run from 8:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. Aug. 12-16.
The camp is for youths ages 11-15 and features trips to Zoom Flume Waterpark, Gilbert Lake and other local swimming areas.
